Governor Soludo, who is targeting Odumegwu Ojukwu through you?

By Ifesinachi Ezeofór

Nothing lasts forever – yet in truism, something does last! What seemingly looked like yesterday’s problem can turn out to be tomorrow’s solution or even worse – a moral pollution.  But one fact remains, we are all humans, no matter the nature we bear in character or the approach we choose to solve the myriads of societal issues.

With strict consistency in logic, I see no reason why the poorest of the poor and people who live in squalor should not be treated as humans recently in Anambra State, even if their offences deserve no pity. Let’s assume that Prof Chukwuma Soludo feels that roadside hawkers and traders do not add colour to the beauty of his forlorn Dubai/Taiwan that exist within, no doubt, Mr. Governor has every reason to curbside without dehumanizing his people.

Image of massive destruction, maiming, whipping and savagery ongoing in some parts of Onitsha Main Market, Nkpor and its environs have thrown the state back to the dark ages of peonism, slavery and cannibalism.  Or are there no better options to remedy this?  Furthermore, Charlie NWA MGBAFOR has proven to be unwilling and unable to streamline government policies using pro-people agents.

Another sad example is that his political party that bears Ojukwu’s image has collapsed into APC with his few PDP allies while ejecting the real APGA members. Out of 25 BOT members presently in APGA, I feel only H. E Bianca Ojukwu still stands within the ranks, the seven permanent BOT members namely; Victor Umeh, Labaran Maku, Alhaji Shinkafi, Alex Otti, Prof Uju Okeke are nowhere to be found in APGA.

The cock bearer, Maja Umeh no longer enjoys the evening crows of brotherhood. H.E Ikedi Ohakim, Jerry Obasi, Stanley Amuchie, and Peter Obi, to mention just a few, enjoy the regularity of their meals and bear no grudges against any man. Something does last…  It will be inadmissible to apportion blames on the brilliant Governor Chukwuma alone, but more can be achieved if the real party stalwarts were absorbed appropriately into the system.

Owelle Mbaso and other past political appointees are no less APGA too. No acidic solution yet! All I see within the state is a creative destruction orchestrated selectively, in Ekwulobia, Isuofia and all parts of Aguata, people who hawk by the roadsides and the Soludo Anti-but-TOUT groups do not make such ugly appearances to whip their old parents who struggle to make out a living. Such impressions do last too.

The party is in a quandary and the power of dialogue has been subdued; Mr Edozie Njoku (Onwa Ibeku) still holds sway as the factional national chairman as affirmed by the apex court.  No reasoning can assuage the pungent fact that the governor and his national chairman are both progressives from Aguata. A political camaraderie is less attractive in its entirety. These are bare facts, I think the governor is either haunted or someone is after Ojukwu’s legacies through him. It costs nothing to let the poor and downtrodden breathe!  Notwithstanding, sire, you can answer on a postcard.
