Real Madrid have defeated Liverpool in the Champions League final with a 1-0 goal in Paris, France.

The match, which was delayed because of the difficulty of Liverpool fans to enter the stadium, later went on with an electrifying tempo.

The Reds had dominated much of the first half with Real Madrid’s Thibault Courtois making daring saves.

The Spanish champions came closest to breaking the tie with a goal by Karim Benzema but was disallowed after VAR checks that stalled the game for several minutes.

It was the Brazilian winger, Jose Vinicius Junior, who put Real Madrid ahead in the 59th minute of play when he hit the net from a driven cross from Federico Valverde.

While Liverpool fought hard and created scoring chances, Courtois kept away from hitting the Madrid’s net.

At the end of play, the goal by Junior secured the Spanish giant’s their 14th Champions League title.
